Alex, as Office Lead, you exemplify the SDC mindset. How would you outline your tasks and your understanding of leadership?
I see it as my job to offer the people in our team the best working conditions. This includes tools and technology and a modern way of working that enables the teams to succeed.
Anyone who wants to take on responsibility also needs room to make decisions. At the SDC, we, therefore, trust that the right product decisions are made by the teams and provide support if a problem arises.

Apart from products and processes, what are your goals at the SDC?
It is always the people who make the difference. That's why we think it's essential that they can continue to develop. We achieve this by creating an environment where people can try new things and learn from mistakes. Professional and methodical training is also part of this.
After all, those who are well trained and confident in their abilities can keep a cool head even under pressure and make good decisions without getting stressed.
How does the SDC fit in at Audi and within the Group?
The Software Development Center is part of Audi’s IT strategy. With our products, we support very different areas of the company in solving challenges and implementing ideas.
The Volkswagen Group also has SDCs at other locations worldwide, and we are very well networked internationally. The developer community in the Group is growing rapidly - and we look forward to welcoming everyone who wants to shape the future with us!
