"In a balanced team, we make all important decisions together - by consensus."
Markus, you are a Product Manager at the SDC. How would you describe your role?
For me, product management starts with the question: How can we quickly create added value for our users and the company? We think "lean," i.e., lightweight and simple, and cut our solution ideas into small "slices." We also take an iterative approach. We always start with an MVP (minimal viable product). We use the Outcome Based Roadmap method, which helps us constantly monitor the target contribution.

– Markus, Product Manager SDC
Your title includes the word "Manager", so some might think that you alone make product-related decisions. Is that true?
On the contrary, it's important to me to say that as a product manager, I don't simply make decisions alone and over the heads of the team. We all have different perspectives and focuses - mine, for example, is prioritizing and managing the backlog, the software engineers on the technical side, and the designers, with whom I work intensively, to reconcile the needs of end users with our product goals. In the Balanced Team, product managers, product designers, and software engineers make all important decisions together based on consensus.
By the way, we often speak English in the team, as we are an international company and don't expect everyone to speak German.
