Product integrity – prerequisite for top quality
Meeting and exceeding customer expectations: This goal is summarized in the strategy field of Consistently customer and is a top priority for Audi. To implement this goal, the products of the four rings must satisfy the highest quality standards. Product integrity is a basic requirement for this.
Product integrity is divided into two major topic areas: Product conformity and product safety. Product conformity means that the four rings adhere to all statutory and official regulations of the respective countries of export and import and meet all specifications resulting from internal and external standards. These include work and process instructions or general standards relating to rules of technology as well as customer requirements. In addition, a product that is already available on the market must not endanger the safety or health of individuals under proper or foreseeable conditions of use. This is regulated by product safety.
Compliance with product integrity requires a regulatory framework that describes all processes, principles, and measures geared toward ensuring product integrity. The “Product Compliance Management System” (PCMS) provides this framework at Audi. It is based on the internal process-oriented quality management system and other established Audi management systems.
Environmental Compliance Management System – a holistic approach to environmental protection
Here at Audi, we take responsibility for the global ecological and social consequences of our business activities and face the challenges presented by climate change. This also includes observing official directives, legal provisions, and other obligations relating to the environment. We have established regulations that help to prevent and uncover violations and misconduct and to respond appropriately if necessary.
Both the environmental policy and the superordinate corporate strategy of AUDI AG require that all employees set priorities for the environment and compliance in their thoughts and actions.
The Environment Compliance Management System (ECMS) is a central tool here. It is a further development of the environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 and helps us to enhance our environmental performance consistently while complying with environmentally relevant binding obligations in the context of the AUDI AG environmental policy at the same time. The integration of the aspect of “compliance” ensures conformity with applicable regulations, uncovers possible misconduct, and prevents it in the future.
