In its customized wrap, the Audi RS e-tron GT is the epitome of outstanding performance in design. The vehicle is already a stunningly beautiful Gran Turismo sports car. The wrap design, which is shaped to the sculptured body, nevertheless steps up a gear in terms of dynamism and athleticism. By transferring the color palette and design language of the FC Bayern shirt to the Audi vehicle architecture, a strong visual hook is created: the car becomes the stage on which to present the combination of the two partners. The emotive electric coupé in its shirt-inspired design thus conveys a polyphonic message of pure performance. With this unique wrap, Audi is dedicating its pioneer of an electric future to Bayern Munich FC and its fans for the future success of the joint grand tour.

The shirt’s design is inspired by the snow-capped peaks of the Alps that lie to the south of Munich. Sharply defined and rich in contrast, the peaks adorn the shirt and are reminiscent of the sporty outdoor designs of the nineties. The counterpoint to this visual nostalgia is provided by FC Bayern’s electrifying red emblem which shines unswervingly towards the future.

The Audi RS e-tron GT shows us what this future might look like when realized. It translates the shirt’s motifs, emotions, and traditions into a progressive language. The key features of the shirt are taken up, such as the dark gray graphics on a white background, the important emblems set in red and the diagonal hatching elements. However, if the characteristic style of the shirt graphics is clearly hand drawn, technically precise lines are used for the wrap to emphasize the car’s character. Besides the accentuation of the vehicle sculpture, the eye-catching wheel design and the progressive location of the partner logos are among the key elements of the design livery. These are, on the one hand, the Audi rings next to the air intakes which highlight the three-dimensionality and depth of the vehicle sculpture through the cut and, on the other, the FC Bayern logo positioned on the rear window which elegantly and confidently contrasts with the background through a tonal matt-gloss effect.
With the Audi RS Q e-tron for the Dakar Rally, a new chapter in Audi e-tron design wrapping was opened: if the wraps up to this point were still derived from the e-tron logo lettering, a technical grid system that highlights the key elements of the vehicle architecture now encompasses the body of the e-trons. The design semantics are carried forward here: neon-red e-tron power stripes direct the observer’s gaze to the sill area. This is where the battery is sited, the beating heart of this fully electric car. Yet the heart of this wrapped car is, at the same time, the Bavarian homeland, its colossal Alps, the heritage of FC Bayern – these elements drive into a global, future-driven world in the wrapped, fully electric Audi RS e-tron GT. There they tell a success story that is about team spirit and the absolute will to win. There, design has the ability to transform a wealth of cultural experiences, to make them come alive across national borders and, ultimately, to bring people together.
For a shared journey into a successful future. #FutureIsAnAttitude.
